Moscow Will Soon Drink Liberally

It's high time this town got some more liberal parties going on. Sure, primaries and elections are fun, but we should hang out outside of those scantly annual occurences. So we should start a progressive club called Drinking Liberally.

Now if you're unfamiliar (or don't want to check their site out), here's a few rules:

1.) Drink.

2.) Talk politics (optional. Otherwise, see #1)

There's more, but that's beside the point. What is more important is deciding a place and a time. Personally, I'd prefer one of two. Either Monday nights at The Garden (Blue Mondays), otherwise CoeurdAlene Brewing Co. So use this post to discuss.

The fact that they serve beer at Taco Time has always tempted me to go there and get wasted, but I'm guessing I'm in the minority. My favorite bar is the Garden, and the Alehouse is pretty awesome (and a good way to support the local economy and local food production) but it doesn't allow smoking - not sure if that would detract some.

I should also say that if we're going to call it Drinking Liberally, we need to actually contact the DL folk and set up something official. (They go into a little detail on their site.) If you want to do that, great. But, otherwise, I'm happy with just a time and place minus the branding. As long as there's booze.

This is an exploratory meeting of sorts. We should get something going before we get on the list. You know, give them something to work with beyond a date and place.

I'm not really sure who "them" are, but a good place to go trawling for liberal drinkers would be Vision2020. I'll get a notice out there. And, for what it's worth, my husband will show up with me, so at least that's three. Since Monday's a holiday, should we say Tuesday, 7:30 at the Alehouse?

Oops, nevermind, Tuesday definitely won't work for me. Mondayd or Thursdayd (Monday would be preferrable) are when I'm free. So maybe the next week? Or martini thursday at the garden?

Thursday sounds good to me. Might be better that day, anyway. I'll go to Blue Mondays with friends all the time, so maybe it's time I branched out and went some other day...

I can be there any time after 8 for the most part.

Thursday, 8:00 at the Garden, then. Hopefully you'll recognize us from my blog picture. I'll wear a green shirt and bitch really loudly about the government, if you need any more direction.

Ok, cool. I'm over 6 foot with brown hair and a chip on my shoulder.
